Inspired by the backdrop of the great Southern Alps, the Opuke Thermal Pools and Spa development is not only an inspiring architectural structure, but the technology behind the facility is world leading.
Sourced from the mountains Ōpuke will source water from the Rangitata river that is fed by the glacial melt water emerging from the spectacular Southern Alps. An industry-leading water-treatment system will ensure exceptional purity of our bathing water. A large array of solar thermal collectors will provide heating to the water before being stored in insulated holding tanks. The solar array occupies a whopping 25% of the site!
