She left behind her successful corporate life in Sydney to take up alpine living in Methven – and she hasn’t looked back.

For Robyn Pelvin, Methven has been the perfect place to settle with her husband, Jeremy, and young son, Ben, while co-founding a successful ‘capsule wardrobe’ clothing label producing high quality clothing aimed at busy career women. Issue Clothing, which mainly sells online with a handful of retail stores stocking their brand, now has customers throughout New Zealand and Australia.
She describes a capsule wardrobe as having versatile pieces that you can mix and match with anything else in your wardrobe.
At first, Robyn gave Methven six months and, if she’s honest, didn’t expected to find her happy place. But she has, and has surprised herself how much she loves life here.
For her, Methven is where the living is easy. There’s no traffic jams, you can easily get a car park and you’re an easy commute to the city.
The lifestyle has left Robyn and Jeremy happier and more relaxed, while still allowing them to grow their businesses. Jeremy is an enthusiastic trail runner, which Mt Hutt offers plenty of.
Robyn is proof that while Methven is small, you can still dream big.
